Stone House Legends & Lore

STONE HOUSE
LEGENDS & LORE

The Stone House that Andrew Stewart built on the great National Road in Chalk Hill, Pennsylvania has served travelers and locals since 1982. Its walls and grounds hold a history that takes you through they hey days of the Old Pike when the National Road (Route 40) was the gateway to the west. A Confederate soldier is said to have appeared here from Civil War days. Coal Barons and Stell Magnates joined Mr. George Titlow through a time of wealth and entertainment during the coal and coke boom of southwestern Pennsylvania.

We'll see what happened when Mr. Titlow passed away after owning the Stone House for 31 years. Fannie Ross will tell us of her move to the mountains in the 1960's as the little Italian woman with her terrific sauce.

You'll hear from those who worked and lived in a building that reeks of heritage and sometimes, mystery. Was there a murder way back when?

New owners share their first two years in business in the Historic Stone House. Remodeling, Steeler Nights, Radio Days, and Special Event photographs depict a new era of memorable dinners and, if Millie is your waitress, many laughs.

I give you Stone House Legends & Lore.
